“No meetings have taken place between Sachin Pilot and the BJP leadership. Everyone knows there are problems between the CM and the deputy CM, but they are trying to pin the blame on the BJP,” said a party leader in Delhi. Several other party leaders also asserted that the BJP is not engineering any defections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has maintained that it has no role in trying to fall the Rajasthan’s Gehlot government and the allegations made by the chief minister are an attempt to deflect from the party’s own failings.
In the midst of a political slugfest over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s alleged attempts to topple the Congress-led Rajasthan government, the loyalists of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have said that Sachin Pilot is in talks with the saffron party.
Sources have told India Today TV that Sachin Pilot has sought an intervention of the Central leadership in Delhi alleging that he has been ignored by the state officials.
Amid the brewing political crisis in Rajasthan, the loyalists of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot camp have alleged that Deputy CM Sachin Pilot is in talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot are likely to be summoned to Delhi over the developments in Rajasthan. The party high command is likely to talk to both the leaders, sources have said.
Ashok Gehlot had on Saturday night convened a meeting of the council of ministers at his residence to discuss the political situation in the state. The meeting was not attended by Sachin Pilot.
Earlier at a press conference, Gehlot had accused the opposition BJP of trying to topple his government by offering his legislators large sums of money.
He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were unable to “tolerate” him or his government and were, therefore, planning a conspiracy.
As the Congress accused the BJP of trying to poach its MLAs to topple the government in Rajasthan, the saffron party hit back at it, saying Ashok Gehlot was targeting the opposition party as he was unable the check the infighting in the state Congress.
